And?

Did you actually read what I originally posted, or did you just get butthurt immediately and start ranting?

Who's butthurt?

I'm just pointing out that we have seen Orgeron without Brady with a ton of inexperience on the offensive side of the ball and he still managed to win 2 more games than Chizik could outside of 2010.

And you all wanted to fire him.

After 2018?

I dont remember this outside of some knuckleheads.

There were plenty of Bammers who said Bama should fire Nick and hire Cristobal/Dabo after 2019.

Always some idiots in every group.

Any college coach winning 10 games in his second year is worth keeping around in my opinion.

I was one of the biggest and loudest Orgeron detractors when he was hired and even I didn't want him fired after 2018. In fact, even on Tiger Rant, I don't remember hardly anyone saying that. Of course, there are always morons who pop in just to say fire the coach. But, those were overwhelming outliers.

CEO had nothing to do with Burrow's improvement short of hiring the guy that DID...now THAT guy's gone, so....

The point is that without Joe Brady and withotu Joe Burrow having the greatest season ever, we won 10 games, almost 11 and were a top 10 team.

Without Gus Malzahn, Chizik went 3-9

Do you know who coaches QBs at LSU and who helped Burrow change his throwing motion to be more accurate in 2019?

Correct and add to this, that we have not played a followup season yet to the national championship season. Therefore you can't compare completely compare.

One other thing to remember about that '18 team no one seems to mention. The LACK of offensive experience returning.

only three starters
no RB had scored a college TD
no RB had 100 yds rushing in '17
leading WR had 14 catches and 0 TDs

not to mention JoeyB not getting to BR till mid summer

Something I would love to see someone breakdown is returning experience on offense in '18 and '20. We may have more returning experience in 2020. The QB has been here going on his 4th season, the RB group is definitely better, the top 2 WRs are WAY better now and the OL has played a lot as well as it being year 2 in a better system.

I'm way too lazy to look that shite up.

I freely admit I thought it was a disaster of a hire at the time. Of course not only was I wrong but Arkansas would go on to hire a coach who is on the Mt. Rushmore of shitty SEC coaches.

What has impressed me about Coach O is that he made some mistakes as LSU Head Coach. Some real whoopers in fact. He learned from all of them and didn't do them again. That probably seems like I'm damning him with very faint praise indeed but it is hard to learn from your mistakes and get better.

Could all this collapse next season? Sure. It is college football. You never really know what can happen. Right now, however, Coach O is doing a fine job as HC. You can't ask for more than that.

Blessings in disguise in retrospect. I don't think 2019 happens without the shutouts to Bama, the loss to Troy and some of the offensive struggles in 2018 after being ultraconservative vs the Southeasterns and LA Techs of the world.

Yeah that put the heat on him. And he used that as personal motivation for himself but he also used it to make the move to put Burrow in charge over Brennan when the locker room was divided at the beginning of the year over it. He told them straight up that it was for his job and he's the coach so deal with it. And BOY was he ever right.

look at burrow's 2018 completion % beyond 10 yards. the greatness was there. just needed the scheme

LSU finished ranked 6th in 2018. LSU is nothing like Auburn. Auburn can’t hold LSU’s jock
