It's not really all that surprising that the team that was #1 for the majority of the season got the highest TV ratings.

there's no need for it, though. we expect to have higher ratings, we don't talk shite, just like we don't with GT. if you do you just sound obnoxious. now AU you can shite talk till your heart's content but if we begin lowering ourself to the level of little cousin then we are no better than the team that paints their stadium when they will 11 games

It was put together by someone on reddit. How accurate is it? I have no idea.

Methodology

I took the data from that site. I omitted all the games that did not include a rating. I then took the average rating that each team had per game. I then divided each game's ratings up proportionally based on each team's average ratings. So, for instance, if Team A's average rating was 1, Team B's average rating was 2, and the rating for the game between the two of them was a 6, Team A would get 1/3rd of the rating associated with them (2 points) and Team B would get 2/3rds of them rating associated with them (4 points). Of course, this only reflects one year's results and can be radically affected by how many games a team had on television, as well as on-the-field success and major rivalries.

An opportunity for a perfect season like that just draws people in man. No surprise at all.
