Acme is the best bar on Broadway and you won't like what you see; women everywhere. Don't be scared of the line as it moves fast. Door guy is a former pike so talk shite to him. It's free but rooftop is $5 cover. Worth it
Peg leg porker in the Gulch is the best BBQ in the downtown area.
You can likely park at the stadium and walk back to Broadway. The view from the pedestrian bridge is cool.
Printers alley is just up the way from Broadway and is a hidden gem. Bourbon st Blues bar is awesome if you like live music and are sick of pop country.
Up 8th Ave is a liquor store named frugal mcdougal. It's the largest liquor store in Tennessee and is pretty cheap.
If you decide to go to midtown, rebar, winners, losers and red door are the best spots. But it's very crowded.
If you want the tourist feel, definitely go to the stage and tootsies, but it's crowded.
Paradise park has $6 pitchers. If you go there, next door is Big Bang. Above that is a venue named Aerial which is where my wedding reception will be. (Just a quick tidbit)
Chris Stapleton and Kings of Leon both doing free shows downtown for NYE. It will be crowded but a great time. Know that the bars will have $100 covers on broadway.
Hope you enjoy your time in the south's hottest city
pardon the grammar, I'm on mobile

I know the music city bowl isn't ideal. But for those turning it into a NYE trip, it will be a blast.

Not even close to being the South's hottest city, lived there for 15 years and was one of the most boring cities I've ever been in. Nothing open 24 hours and the party is dead after 11 pm. Nashville is no New Orleans baw.
But have an upvote for a decent review of the city's offerings.

So you haven't lived here for how long?
Because the last 5 years is when Nashville has experienced its growth
I suggest you check out Nashvillecranewatch.com

Eases the pain of not being able to go a bit. However I'll still be listening to Chris Stapleton on repeat in sadness that I couldn't make it. The NYE portion would have been awesome.

It'll be really packed there. I've never been. My advice would be get there early or find a shuttle that goes to opryland. Parking will be a huge bitch. It always is, even on regular weekends.

Yea if I mosey down there I'll probably just take a flask. Covers are outrageous and the lines to get drinks will be long. It's an ordeal but it's also a lot of fun going to the show and watching the guitar drop.

You're FOS.
Never heard anyone refer to Nashville as "boring" GTFO.
