Wasn't Jim Taylor an LSU TIger? I nominate him.

The OP is right. Art Cantrelle is the toughest. He was also insane. He became well know to the police for all the bar fights he was involved in. There is also this story:
quote:

Art was getting married while he was at LSU, and there was a team "tradition" that no player could get married with his pubic hair intact. So a group of about 10 of his teammates gathered outside his dorm room the day before the wedding w/ the intent of holding him down and shaving his privates. They burst in on him and found him sitting calmly on a chair in the middle of the room. He looked at them and said: "I know why you're here and I won't put up a fight...I'll let you do what you came to do. But I want you all to know this...I see every face in this room. And at some point in the future, I WILL get all of you, one at a time."
Art became the only player to marry with his hair intact

How many of you knew that Art Cantrelle AND Joe Labruzzo both played HS football at Southside High School (A/K/A LA Training Institute - reform school), Monroe, LA? When you walked into the gym you saw a lifesize photo hanging on the wall of both in their LSU uniforms.

Probably not a good idea to brag about gay practices like shaving another male's pubic hair.

Former noseguard and SEC heavyweight wrestling champion George Atiyeh was one bad arse dude . Laid back personality , but if you pissed him off . Look out . If any of this group could take out Andolsek , he would be the one .

Probably cut way down on the incidence of pubic lice.

Greg "The Cookie Man" Cook unfortunately passed away several years ago in Houston, TX. Chances are he's not posting from the grave.

The rant has its share of worm food posters.

You guys are talking about two kinds of tough here - street tough and football tough - two totally different attributes.

Street - Art Cantrelle.

Football - Jim Taylor.

He would throw himself in the air horizontally on kick-offs and take out 2 guys. Dude was seriously kookoo. The fans looked forward to kick-offs for one reason, Steve Rehage...

When I was in school I was walking across campus and a Datsun runs a stop sign and almost hits Atiyeh's car. He and another lineman ran out of their car tackled the Datsun and flipped it over.

One bad Mutha!

A good friend was an EBP Sheriff's Deputy back in Cantrell's days & he said that whenever the Sheriff's station on Highland would get a call about Cantrell raising hell again, the first call would go to the other stations asking for backup. Cantrell was loaded around 1pm one midwk day & raising hell with a pinball machine when the bar called the S.O. My friend was new to this experience & went in first, without waiting for backup. And my friend was 6'5 300 (John Candy type body)& used to intimidating civilians. As he got half way in the bar, Cantrell saw him coming, picked up the pin ball machine, swung it around, and charged my friend with it. At the end of the day, it took 6 deputies to bring him down. Hands down, no contest. Cantrell was just mean, period.
