This coming from a contractor that runs bigger generators (8k to 10k range and gas and diesel engines). Buy a good generator one time and take care of it, it will last you a long time.
You get what you pay for with Honda engines, lots of good service guys around that will hook you up with oil changes if you don't know how, filters are easy to get and just general parts are easier to find.
