you and i both know that if y'all had lost the NC game to Fran at A&M say in 2005 or 2006 that your fan base would have had some serious issues

No, despite what some of our less intelligent fans may have argued back in those days, it's not about the eyeball test. It's about the top two teams in the bcs rankings; and Oregon lost and dropped below undefeated notre dame in the standings. Sorry, those are the rules. Not comparable.

What's funny is that the same system that LSU fans claim to be unfair is the only reason they got anything in 03.

For Bama fans you'd think it'd be the 36-0 blowout win against Fear the Thumb in his last AU game.
For AU, it has to be 28-27. The emotionally fricked look on the faces of the fans on both sides during that game was epic.

This one would be higher if the outcome hadnt been a sure thing by the time of the game. Pretty anticlimactic after the streak. Auburn was garbage that year.

The BCS was altered many times over the years. The system as it existed in 2003 had more of an influence of the computers. had that system been in place in 2011 Oklahoma State would have certainly gone to the BCSCG.
The system was revised over the years to allow human "eyeball test" (which is really just code for "that's what I feel and I can't explain why) biases and politics to play more of a role.
