Terrible comparison.

What are we even talking about anymore?

there is no doubt that he is---makes me wonder if he had landed somewhere else like Bama if he would have turned out any different

I honestly think he would have. Not every neighborhood produces the same character of kids and not every program does either. It's not like Bama only recruits boy scouts. Trent Richardson and Dre Kirkpatrick fathered 2 kids in high school. But when they got to Bama there was not a hint of a discipline problem. Kids from troubled backgrounds with no father figure don't need a hug from their coach, promises of starting day 1, etc. They need to be brought to reality and be challenged. I think the entitlement culture at UGA and Richt's relaxed discipline methods allow small problems to become bigger ones like this.

I don't know how the kid would have turned out, but IMO Saban/Bama faces the exact same challenges as any other coach/program faces.

Any one of our players may go out tonight and decide to do something stupid and land his arse in the pokey. Young testosterone loaded males are capable of doing most anything.

I will say this, for whatever reason the various issues that have come up lately at different schools just appear to be symptoms of kids that just don't give a shite to follow the rules.

I see nothing wrong with having fun, enjoying your college years. But DAMN why the hell do they feel the need to drive around smoking weed, and carrying guns?

Not really, again blaming someone else for the actions of another is not where judgement should be passed

Teacher=police I was blaming them for not liking me and out to get me for bad grades I brought upon myself. Did some of them not like me? maybe. Were they out to get me? no. The bad grades were a result of my bad decisions, not because someone is out to get me.

Again if the police are arresting/ticketing for "stupid crimes" then that is because there is a problem in the area with said "stupid crimes" and were told to be on the lookout for them and enforce the law. These officers dont want to fill out police reports and etc.. it is a waste of their time

I seem to recall Dannell Ellerbe (sp?) stealing Mudcat elmore's car and then driving it into a ditch. All he had to do was go play JUCO ball somewhere for a season before coming back. I also believe that was not his first incident.

Pretty sure Odell Thurman routinely beat the shite out of people before finally getting into UGA as well

Agree. Richt's problem is his discipline always comes after an incident. What is obviously missing is daily preventive discipline that heads off problems before they can develop.

Apparently JHC, Blake Tibbs, Cootie Harrow, and Sheldon Dawson were all in the car...lawd have mercy at least they didn't get arrested too

I'm not blaming for the actions. It all boils down to why we have more alcohol related arrests than others. Football players everywhere drink, yes including Auburn, and they tend to get arrested more in athens because Athens cops are more eager to arrest someone for underage drinking than cops in Auburn or Tuscaloosa.

He has had kids commit the same acts over and over again. it's a catch 22 for him, look bad to the public by showing no mercy or look bad to the public by losing games because a talented player is not in the game. People/fans have a short memory when it comes to either situation and dont correlate the two together

If the car smelled of weed, then Richt needs to dicipline all of them. Show the other players not to put yourself in the situation

Supposedly, the car smelled like weed so the officers asked consent to do a search. Crowell gave consent (mistake). No weed was found but a gun was found underneath the driver's seat. Only way Crowell gets out of this is if it's not his car and not his gun. But whoever fesses up to who's gun/car it belongs to will get the boot. Either way all of them will be disciplined in some way. Can't be cruising around at 3:30am that's just plain stupid.
