We lose in extras 6-5. Damn this team is hard to watch. Lead off walks, hit batsmen, catching a foul ball on a tying run on 3rd. Crap!

It's not that hard to watch. We lost so many players coming into this season and now we added 2 more pitchers to the injury list. How many is that now, 7?

Lot of new faces in pitching and the bats. Saw a lot of newcomers this weekend. It's not going to be another Sec title team, we knew this coming into the season. I'm having fun watching the new guys get experience. Yes, it's tough, but Andy Canizzaro is a great coach to pull off what he has so far with the cards he was dealt.

I will stick with hard to watch. Lots of new players and short on the pitching staff. But 18 strikeouts out of 27 outs Friday with Mangum, Alexander (4), Rooker, Gridley, Stovall and Brown? They aren't new. Lose games you are supposed to lose but don't be stupid with hit batters, lead off walks (hell, I am old but I could throw a frigging strike). It might get launched for 500 ft but at least give the defense a chance. Catch a deep foul ball with tying runner on 3rd? bullshite! Take your chances with the next pitch. That's teaching/coaching.

You answered your own comment. The pitching staff is damn low. You are going to see this stuff as we are forced to pitch guys who would not have seen the mound otherwise.

We have weekend starter talent benched and bullpen guys benched from injuries to a team that already lost a lot. You point out a few bats, ok fine. But you fail to see the big picture.

Tenn swept to go to 9-1. Pumping breaks on expectations until opening weekend against USCe. Then hopefully they can take at least one.

Auburn gave up 10 walks including 4 to lead off an inning. All four scored as Auburn fell in extras. We need a few more pitchers.

Agreed that expectations should be tempered. The one thing that makes me feel better than in prior years is that at 9-1, UT is only 3-0 at home. That being said...early season OOC schedule is average at best.

Currently #6 RPI...we'll see how long that lasts...
