After an All American year as a junior Levi Brown returned to Penn State to again be named all American tackle. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Labor and Industrial Relations he was taken by the Arizona Cardinals with the 5th pick over all in the 2007 draft

Mark Barron considered going to the NFL draft his junior year. But he was hurt and was not considered a 1st round draft pick, so he came back for his senior season.

He is now considered the #1 Safety in the draft; a 1st rounder and as Coach Saban said, in this article, "That’s 10 or 15 more million dollars he made by coming back to school, plus he graduated."

I had forgotten Locker was drafted so high. I remember him plummeting through the year because he was on my fantasy football team. I kept that perception in my head, and forgot he'd rebounded... at least for the draft.

Barett Jones maybe be like Paul Poz both winning the awards as the best player at their postion but not going in the draft's top ten (poz went # 34)

Locker was a first rounder after his Jr. year... he totally plummeted. It seems like most people want to come back for a Heisman.

You do realize Locker still went top 10? He didnt plummet at all. He actually still should of went earlier. Should of been the #2 QB taken that year behind Cam and ahead of Gabbert/ Ponder. Actually Gabbert/Ponder should of been the 3 and 4 QB taken behind Cam, Locker, and Andy Dalton.

That was a bust IMO. His sights were set on winning it all and the Heisman. They had a good record, but his being there certainly didn't guarantee a better season.

Cheated out of the Heisman and was mistakenly the 2nd overall all pick is not a bust. Who cares what Tennessee did? Andrew Luck being the overall #1 pick a bust, too? Stanford didn't win a NC!!!!

Trent Richardson returing would be my example of a highly touted returnee had he not opt for this year's NFL Draft

Peyton was #1 overall.

The Chargers were the ones who got stuck with the mistake.

I think Jevan Snead is the most extreme example. I don't even understand what happened to him.

I don't know what Masoli's expectations were before he left Oregon, but his stint at Ole Miss couldn't have helped.
