re: Stop with this “ but they play in the ACC “

People acting like that blowout against Bama was some monumental statement game. Bama walked up and down field all-night against Clemson they just had poor at play calling and execution in the redzone. Bama didn't play well and was embarrassed against Clemson.

It wasn't some indictment like the 2017 Clemson/Bama game where Clemson only gained 200 yard and struggled to get a 1st down all night. The 2018 Clemson team was good, but not as good as their 2015 or 2016 teams.

The 2018 team was obviously really good, but that one game that got out of hand is deluding people into thanking Clemson is Thanos.

That Clemson team had 3 1st rders on the defensive front. This Clemson team doesn't. This Clemson team is better than 2017 Clemson, but not as good as 2018, and a couple of notches below the Deshaun Watson teams of 2015 and 2016.


LSU should win by 2 or 3 scores if they play well. If they don't they can lose obviously.

Clemson is a great team but they play in a shite conference and that makes them an autobid that suffers fewer injuries and less wear and tear than those that play in good conferences. OSU often benefits the same way but the Big 10 has been getting better while the ACC has gone to shite.

Not only are they able to limit PT/injuries for their starters they're also able to build depth.

Hey OP,
It’s not a matter of Clemson being good or bad when the ACC schedule is mentioned. It’s a matter of not having any frame of reference in contrast to knowing LSU has survived and thrived through a murders row.

Oh and another thing, last year comparisons is even less relevant than this years SOS.

I've watched Burrow look average against the best defense he played too and Clemson is better (especially at passing efficiency). They also have a better win than LSU, against a complete team.

LSU might be the best passing team Clemson's played but Clemson has the best offense and defense LSU has played and has played a better defense and offense with a running game.
