so, what is the basis for that? is it that bama's back have rushed for more yardage, more ypc, the same number of rushing touchdowns? is it that they did this against a tougher schedule, run defense-wise? Alabama has faced opponents with an average run defense rank of 51.5. LSU has faced opponents with an average run defense of 53.83, and that's only if you exclude the 2 FCS teamsthey have played. If you include them both at position 120 (for lack of a better way to calculate), it goes down to 70.37.

lsu team rushing totals
339 attempts, 1667 yards, 4.9 ypc, 20 TDs

alabama team rushing totals
331 attempts, 1715 yards, 5.2 ypc, 20 TDs
