Read a post on gulfcoastwx that it looks to have a more northerly movement over the last hour. Would be great news if the turn to the N is happening now.

Winds up to 140. NW at 14.

Got a down vote for concern of a rivals fan safety.

You guys are special.

Yeah, the Weather Channel has it coming in at West Palm Beach and then skirting the entire Coast of Fla..

ETA the eye staying off shore is what is concerning. It would weaken more if it came on land.

Crazy, it looks like it's going to loop back around and hit twice.

From watching their live reports with the dude in Nassau, didn't seem conditions were too bad. Have a bad feeling that won't hold true for the FL coast, though.

It's not as uncommon as you think. Some hurricanes just don't want to die

Jim Cantore is pulling some of his people from where they are at. That dude is an animal. That tells me how bad they expect this storm to be.

This.. as a New Orleanian trust me don't flirt with a big storm. Get out and get away. The risk of staying far outweighs the benefits of staying home and holding down the fort

Thanks for the addition of sanity to the board and for the well wishes. We'll battle it out here hopefully like BR folks did for their catastrophe.

Some tool is downvoting all posts! Lol!

Saw a post that it's projected to increase to 145. Wonder if it will get stronger than that over the Gulf Stream

POS

I don't really wish any ill will on anybody, it's just the irony of the thread titled, "LSU fans need to understand the reality of this storm" put me off.

It's like we have no recent example to look to as evidence of what could happen.

Now they're saying could be a cat. 5. Currently a 4 at 140 mph sustained winds.

This is bad, most roofs have architectural shingles which are only rated at 120 mph. 3tab shingles are rated at 65 mph.

Class H shingles are 150 mph rated which are recommended for High-Wind Regions ( LINK)

You didn't hear? It was all bought up by backward arse LSU fans (not all LSU fans are backward arse).

Maybe you didn't know, but that was a big problem during the Katrina recovery. A lot of backward arse, and a lot of non-backward arse LSU fans, got stuck with Chinese gypsum board after Katrina and had to tear it out and start over.

Best of luck Floridians and my fellow Georgia coasters (even though most GA coast people are flea ridden leg humpers).

This looks like its going to be one bad mother brother. Pressure dropped to 24 millibars. The eye staying over warm water with the sidewall scraping the coast is ridiculously bad/catastrophic. Will be interesting for us weather nerds to see how long it will main intensity straddling the coast.

Be safe and godspeed.

I did and the problem was more widespread than people really know. Also it wasn't just Chinese made GB; there were some US companies making that shite too.
