Very true. It's one of the reasons why the SEC tournament champion rarely wins the national title. Hard to play at such a high level for so long against elite competition.

I might be wrong, but I think its what an Ole Miss fan starts as a thread when his team is playing in the semifinals of a tournament that has more quality teams participating than will be in Omaha, while a lil brother school that has barked and barked all year about how Ole Miss sucked and three out of 4, just got eliminated by being run ruled...but I might be wrong.

Ole Miss could sweep the tourney and still not get a national seed. State had it on lock 2 weeks ago. Get on our level.

more than one college baseball publication now has Ole Miss and LSU as the 4th AND 5th national seed from the SEC...do you realize that if either team wins this tournament, then your team will have accomplished NOTHING by winning the series against those teams that they didn't accomplish by losing to your team...SEC regular season championship and national seed = SEC tourney championship and national seed. but by all means, continue to beat your chest while watching LSU and Ole Miss play this weekend.

hats off. state college is an elite team, and deserves the championship. the point in this thread is that you can really no longer make fun of LSU and Ole Miss as you have all season long, because those teams have played themselves into a national seed, and are proving to be elite as well...elite teams don't get run ruled, I might add. and the thread was started on the premise that state college might be slipping.

Poor thing. Us State fans won't make fun on you anymore, since you've won a couple SEC tournament games. I have no beef with any other teams. Why? Because we're on top on the best league in the country and the best this league has ever been. Our team has bigger goals than winning something we had already accomplished over a much longer stretch of time. Not really worried about a 10 run rule, we were playing guys that hardly ever play those final 4 to 5 innings. We really had nothing to play for going into the thing. As others have said, we're already a National seed lock.

I seriously doubt they give the SEC 5 seeds. They probably deserve it, but really don't think it happens. I'd say at this point in time Ole Miss has a slim lead over LSU but if the Rebs lose today and LSU wins then it shifts the other way. If both make it to the final game that will be a hell of a game to watch with a lot on the line!
