Well this and he makes closer to 3, contract was just renewed to 4 years (maximum length) so you're looking at a 9 million-ish buyout on top of him moving into his new practice facility in January and stadium in 2014.

Have not even scratched the surface of just how good he can be at State.

$100 mil tied up in football facilities currently under construction... Recruiting getting better and better every season... New WR coach on the "Ed Orgeron level" of recruiting in Texas, where we will play two games next season and will undoubtably be recruiting much harder, etc...

No idea of when he intends to leave, but he has taken no shortcuts at State... If anything, he has always sacrificed the present for the future if it made sense to do..

State is one year away from breaking through....His wife loves Starkville and is not leaving. He will be at state for a long time. Money is of no issue. The cost of living in Starkville is the lowest of the SEC schools. His $2 Mill salary is like $4 Mill anywhere else.

...and Merlins might have the best wife of all coaches IMO. I'd actually hate to see him leave MSU.

Concerning the chatter...I think we just need something to grind about.

Why would you leave the 2nd best team in the SEC west for the 2nd worse team in the west?

While I recognize the tongue in cheek, he has a point. Arkansas is in a situation that is not attractive. Bobby set the bar high and you have zero players to build with. His lack of recruiting is why y'all are in the mess you're in. You know this recruiting class is garbage. I don't envy the guy that takes over that program. Y'all are going to have to settle for a Freeze, not a Gruden, or even a Merlin

The funny thing about this is that even with all the turmoil our recruiting class is still ranked #23 and with even one more 3* commit we would pass State in the rankings.

You might can buy out Merlins, but you can't buy out the grind. The grind is a priceless entity only MSU fans are entitled to. Sorry...at least you still have Woo Pig Sooie

To be fair, this season will likely end up better than 2010, barring some kind of epic State meltdown. (which is possible I never rule out these things)

Why would Freeze leave the 3rd or 4th best team in the SEC west for the 2nd worse team in the SEC west. Now if Chizic left Auburn for Arkansas, that would make sense

No you wouldn't. Your average player ranking is worse than State's. You might get close, but you wouldn't surpass us.

Don't pay too much attention to where we are right now anyway.

Practically everyone we have left on the board are in the 4* range...and we will most likely get 4-6 of those guys. Rankings wise, this should be the best class of the Mullen era

On Scout, we are 19th. Ya'll are 41st.

On 247, we are 21st. Y'all are 26th.

On Rivals we are 28th, ya'll are 40th.

So no

Meh, we have at least one 4* still hanging out there. Regardless I think we can only sign 21 or 22 this year so you should rank above us in recruiting.

712 to 706 on points and 86.06 to 86 on average rating. We would pass you in both with an 87.

The point is that even in our complete clusterfrick of a season with never ending turmoil our class is still on pace with yours.
