Even more impressive when you consider it shut down after Katrina. Chad Jones and handful of other blue chippers would be on the list if not for that.

Yep - the special they did on either Gameday or SECN on Fournette and by extension St-Aug was incredibly impressive. What a great place. And the way those guys all have a unique bond with other St-Aug guys (like Avery Johnson/Burton Burns and Fournette) is really cool.

We need more of those in this country.

Current LSU RB Coach Jabbar Juluke also went to Aug. He was one of Frank Wilson's assistant coaches when Wilson was still coaching in the high school ranks.

You also missed Leroy Hoard who famously said, "Coach, if you need one yard, I'll get you three yards. If you need five yards, I'll get you three yards."

The truly amazing thing to me is that with all that talent, they always underachieve. I cant remember the last time they won state in either basketball or football.

Take a look sometime at the rosters for St. Augustine and West Monroe when they met I'm Tad Gormley for a 2010 playoff game that West Monroe won 27-26. Unbelievable talent on the field....best player?...you know who...

The band is the shite.

I remember when lf7 was being recruited. I used to joke with the band parents and say tell Fournette to come to Bama. They'd laugh and say hell no!

I wish marching bands were as popular nationwide. Only in New Orleans, have I ever heard someone say they joined the band to get women.

Isn't St Aug one of the last catholic schools in New Orleans that still institutes the paddle?

Yep.

And they don't frick around with dress code and stuff like that. Fournette talks about getting the paddle his freshman year for cutting up or something and how it straightened him out.
