Legendary college football coach Steve Spurrier made a bold prediction, saying that he believes the Florida Gators are going to beat the Alabama Crimson Tide in this year’s Week 3 matchup in Gainesville. Spurrier coached the Gators for 12 seasons from 1990-2001, compiling a record of 122-27-1 over that span.

So, I'll bookmark this thread...

Legendary has Florida beating Alabama.
Salee has LSU doing it.
and the unknown analyst has A&M.

I'll promise to eat crow if (any of) it happens.

Fid out.

If Bama loses to Miami out the gate, the whole season is wide open, it would break the SEC, there might be a lot of hype in that game, that will be interesting but completely doubt it happens

It's a popular opinion among the pundits this season. More Bama fatigue than realistic observation. Spurrier doesn't have to eat the crow when his predictions fail to live up to his wit. Now, if Mullen wants to say it, I'm all ears.

Spurrier.

Very very possible/likely.

Alabana will have a solid Defense but replacing too much on offense.

They will be tough but won’t have the offensive explosion to answer when needed.

Coin flip with Miami
Loss at the swamp
Coin flip at Kyle field
Loss to OM (cant keep pace offensively)
Coin flip with LSU

You're judging Jones on what basis at this point?

I don’t know if he hates Mullen or not, but telling his fan base to expect a win isn’t doing Mullen a favor at all.

Hasn’t the Alabama camp news been comparatively positive this season compared to the usual?

Like most Florida fans don't already expect to win every game...

It could happen. Nobody knows what Bryce Young or Emory Jones will do under pressure

Florida won’t score more than 10 points.

Of course it could happen.

It’s even more likely if Young were to somehow get banged up, since the depth behind him is not great.

I mean eventually Alabama is going to lose some games. Will this be the year?

Probably not, but if y'all are going to lose, Florida is a pretty good bet for the team that does it.

Yeah, it’s going to be interesting this year to watch the defense during the first few games while the offense develops.

If this year’s defense can’t get it done, I think it will tell us a lot about the infallibility of modern offenses in general (because it should be really good for a change).

Yea. I’m sure Florida will have no clue how to score on people with a mobile QB. Mullen is pretty clueless with those types.

Spurriers right. The Swamp will rattle Bama’s new QB in his first road game. Gators pull off the upset.
