first time I've watched the video and have no problem with it. If you just read the quote off of an internet article it sounds bad but he was just trying to get the crowd going then he gets sincere.

There's a shocker.

Even though I agree with the people who feel this is classless (yes, I watched the video), it's nothing new. Those who like Spurrier will applaud his candor, and those who don't will say he's a prick.

Frankly, I think he is a straight-shooting prick. He says what he thinks, yes...but saying classless things doesn't take "guts", it takes a lack of respect.

Actually I agree. Reading it online makes it sound pretty uncalled for. Watching the video, it doesn't seem too bad.

Video gives it a less harsh feel. Still, the comments towards Latt were made in a positive gesture, to have played it off like that was still uncalled for.

Yeah, when I read the quote it sounded way worse. In context it's not bad at all. He took a little jab at a rival, big deal.

Dabo should take his 92 SEC and NC rings to this yrs game and if he wins, slip them on for the handshake

Why would he wear something showing his success as a player at alabama as a coach at clemson playing against SC? That makes as much sense as spurrier wearing his NC ring.

well you cant have a thread about two other schools. he had to tie to to bama in some way.

This thread wasn't about Bama? Why not?

Then he went on and did exactly what he's done for the last several years at USCjr...choked away opportunities.

Sorry for losing to two top 10 teams on the road.

Also I'm mad I start this thread yesterday and it gets anchored.

Dan Wetzel from Yahoo took Spurrier to task over his comments on this. He definitely comes off as a petulant kid at times

Good, someone needs to. It must be nice to be old and get away with flapping your jaws about anything you'd like.
