I think he broke the national receiving record. The talent around him has squeezed him out of the program.

Anthony "Freak" Johnson

Never lived up to his nickname or his #1 HS DT ranking, then he declared a year early for the draft and went undrafted

It was such a WTF moment when him and Ego ran out unannounced on senior day that year. The middle of our defense was such a weak spot his last season and the season after.

Russell Shepard recently. LSU doesn't run the style of offense that he would have excelled in. He would have been better than Dennis Dixon if he went to Oregon.

I'm sorry but I just cannot call a 4 year contributor to a team a bust. Was he the superstar like we thought he would be? No but he was a decent player for LSU and is now making plays in the NFL.

More like national record. However I went call him a bust. Granted I am known among the LSU recruiting board solely for my disagreements with many other posters on the topic of Trey Quinn. Just never thought he was anything special. Turns out I was right.

As for 5 stars -

Tyler Love - 2008-11 medical reshirts as freshman and reserve LT the rest of his Bama career.

Burton (BJ) Scott - 2008-11 started out as a receiver, red shirted, moved to defensive back, ended up leaving Alabama

The biggest college bust? Regrettably Dolly Parton didn't go to college or we could end the debate here and now.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for 1000 yards at whatever school he goes to.

And this is an LSU moment for Quinn that will never be forgotten =)

Leon Hart, AU, O-line

Very hyped recruit.

Solid on the PAT/FG team.

Never started a game from scrimmage.

Everyone here is missing the ultimate college bust...

Bryce Brown

He was talented enough to play in the NFL. But he was such a frick up, never did much of anything in college.

I was so pissed when he didn't see the field against Florida his freshman year. I thought they were keeping a massive weapon on the bench.

Is that the kid from Wichita, KS? Old mind cannot recall, but think he was a good LSU possible and ended up in Knoxville. Same kid?

Yep. His brother, Arthur Brown, was a five start linebacker the class before, who went to Miami. Bryce was the number 1 player, if I remember correct. The brother were infamous for being one of the first with a shady outspoken handler. He was Lane Kiffin's prize signees at Tennessee.

Lavon Hooks is the biggest bust in the Freeze era. The Nutt/Orgeron era have too many to name.

Calloway from Bama was another.
Calloway was never that good. I have no idea how he got rated so high. He was like Jimmy Johns. Decent at many things, but not good enough to start at any position.

No. His over rated rep is based on 1 fourth down stop when unblocked.

I have no idea what Kiffin paid him to come to Knoxville, but he was definitely compensated.

Nuke Richardson probably was as well, as was Janzen Jackson.
