UTjr finally beat UF and won it all the year after he left with Tee Martin at QB.

I'd put Eli, Peyton, Shuler, Archie, Couch, Stafford, etc over Dak

As well as Namath, Stabler, Eric Zeier, and maybe Tommy Hodson.

Derrick Henry never beat Ole Miss as a starter...so I guess if Bama beats them this year it will be because of Bo > Henry.

Which is ironic...I think "happy feet" only meant that he was moving up/around in the pocket a bit, and was actually a strength of his game in the long run.

You seem to be overlooking the part where Tennessee never won it all until Tee Martin took over.

I don't think this proves Martin was better than Manning...but it is interesting.

Yep, reading comprehension is lacking in this Vol.

I'll go with Matthew Stafford. He still has a few years of a NFL career to go also.

No, it was meant to be a criticism, that he kept his feet moving as he was scanning the field, rather than setting them before he threw. It was supposed to imply that he was nervous/didn't handle pressure well.

It became the lazy writer's "go to" comment about Manning, like talking about Tebow "taking the team on his back". Sportswriters/commentators repeat each other too damn much instead of making their own assessments.

Pennington was great, but he was no Brandon Avalos.

Yea, that's what I was agreeing with you on (hit reply to the wrong poster).

They took a strength of his game and tried to make it a knock against him. He played his entire NFL career with "happy feet", i.e., expanding/moving the pocket and scanning the field on his toes.

I don't think Peyton had a major flaw at the college level. But I don't think he was the same leader in college that he became in the pros.

I read a story he told once about his first series as a freshman. I guess it was Todd Helton that got hurt, and Peyton came in and was trying to pump his team up with some words. He said an offensive lineman said, "hey, Peyton Freshman, shut the frick up and call the play." I guess he put the clamps on leadership after that, ha.

I'm definitely partial to Archie Manning. If you never saw him play you could never fully appreciate the things he did. However, I would have to give the nod to Peyton, if we are talking entire career...college and NFL.

I know I will get a lot of heat and hate from Bama fans, but Namath just wasn't that great in the NFL. His greatest claim to fame was the prediction.
