Comparing Turnovers across the SEC from 2015

Interesting read on turnovers across the SEC last year. Ultimately, stats can be used to tell whatever story you want typically (lies, damned lies, and statistics), but I liked it for overall comparison if nothing else. UGA was in a similar boat last year though, as our turnover margin was one of the best in 2014, regressed a bit in 2015 but still above the average.

I don't think turnovers are necessarily lucky. The defense had to put themselves in a position to recover or take possession of the ball.

Fumble recoveries are pretty lucky. Causing fumbles isn't necessarily luck, as that can include skill, but whether you fall on your own fumble or the opponents fumble is pretty much right time and place or where the ball bounces.

Having to sit through all our games last year, I can tell you at no time or point did I feel we were lucky in any capacity lol.

*Causing* turnovers (or refusing to turn the ball over), is in large part technique/skill (some are unavoidable but on the whole, these are the minority). Recovering fumbles is one of the luckiest things in football.

I was kind of expecting that from CNB or someone else, but yeah... last season was not kind to the Cocks. I'd say in retrospect, the UNC game looks pretty lucky though. All the redzone turnovers?

And people who don't understand statistics, trends, and math misunderstand what "luck" means.

I don't think many SC fans will argue that we were actually better than UNC by season's end.

Only blind or inept people would associate 2015 USCe with any form of skill

When you downvoted my post, what did you think it would do? Really, I'm curious. What really happens with a downvote?

Complaining about a downvote has to be one of the saddest things you can do on here.

A running tally would be nice. Not because it means anything, but total up and total down would be fun to know (as well as what % came from what fan group...)
