well I wouldn't call it a ghetto.

thing is... you probably knew about before anyone else in Mobile.

I hadn't seen it until just now.

I saw it on twitter from a State buddy of mine who lives in SA. He appreciated it

What's really embarrassing about this situation, is that we agreed to play in Ladd...

Let's compare how much money it takes to do a home and home vs two home games... I understand the point though.

However, I will be shitfaced, with all my friends that went to South, 20 miles from my house. Will be a great time.

I completely understand, but it could have been someone that is actually regionally recognized.

Then I would hate to see what you call a ghetto because what surrounds Ladd is pretty much section 8 housing.

Where in the world are you from and somehow know so little about Mobile?

Alabama Village.

that's a ghetto.

mostly every part of Prichard, that's a ghetto.

Ladd is a dump though. Only thing they've done to make it better is change the turf. They did renovate the stands though.

I don't what idiot was saying that they are all rusted.

True.

I remember something about the stands but I mean there's only so much you can do. How the city hasn't dumped some of that Senior Bowl money into the Stadium is beyond me, but what can you say they're stupid as frick.

Best part: You can buy alcohol in the stadium

I was going to say, at least we can get a good buzz going each week when we watch them play.

old money. The Cooper family probably has a lot to with it.

I know for a fact they were the ones who fought to get Phil Savage to take over for Steve Hale.

They were the last time I was there...that's the whole reason I asked had the stadium been renovated since then....duh.

Did they renovate that stadium? because i remember Ladd being a shithole...dont know why the senior bowl is still there.

Yes renovated but hardly super nice. The Senior Bowl is owned and run by Mobilians, why on Earth would they move it?

It would be better if they started from new or almost new and just kept the frame or whatever...but that stadium is way old.

take it easy pal.

it was a HUGE dump still in the 90's. We played all of our high school games there. We had to share that field with Murphy, Davidson, Leflore, Williamson, etc.

the footing was horrible.

I remember we played Mountain Brook there in 1999. They were pissed at how shitty the field was.

they kicked the shite out of us too. But I got a QB sack that game.

true story.

South's in the process of getting an on campus stadium so I'm sure that's why the school hasn't spent a lot of money on the stadium.

yeah, I'd like to hear the backstory on that one.

Ladd isn't in the best part of town. You know this by now. But there will be a lot of cops down there for the ones out there who are super paranoid about that kind of stuff. Really... I mean its not bad at all.

can't promise anything special on parking. No need to sugar coat it.

Hey, at least we serve beer.

ok well that makes sense on their part...on campus stadiums are the shiz and makes the tailgating/parking much more pleasant.
