Oh well i didn't expect them to understand the flagship since there can only be one and obviously we are it.

It's a stupid reference that people at non-land grant universities use to differentiate themselves. Has become a joke since most non-land grant schools are the smaller, less athletically gifted schools.

Arky fans have gone full retard. I really wish they would've won something before the invention of the internet so they'd know how to act on here.

Yes it should. All in favor? Motion passes. Arkansas will now be referred to as the Fagship.

Who referred to Arky as a flagship?

Arkies love to give themselves nicknames.

The Flagship (they do lead the Univ. of Arkansas system)
QB U
WR U
The Legend (Mallet's own nickname for his arm)
The Hammer (Mallet's own nickname for himself)

Reminds me of George Costanza.

These are going to be the closest things to a rational explanation of OP's original question.

Dear SEC,

Why are you guys so mad? Is it because you are so easy to troll?

Please calm down.

Best Regards,

It looks to me like some little piggies have just learned a new word. Apparently no one has told them that the use of 'flagship' in a university system has been around since about the 1950s.

It's like that guy at the party that tells a joke, and no one laughs except for him.

If you're the only one laughing, then it's a bad joke.

Capstone, I get it... you're a Navy grad, and that's a nautical term. However, I did associate the correct era for usage "in a university system". I was not trying to imply the word was originated in the 1950's.

On another note, I had a Midshipman perform his Capstone research with me when I was working in a Navy lab! Go Navy!
