the 'no debt' programs have awful football teams.
I think some of this is based on the timing of that graphic (2022). Georgia State for instance just built this arena for BBall.
And just yesterday announced this for Baseball at the site of the old Fulton County stadium.
No way they don’t have debt.

Oh wow- I never thought I'd envy Georgia State in anything, but here we are.
I love what they've done to keep Turner Field alive as well. Tech let themselves get completely lapped in a very short period of time as far as facilities go

Looking at the list at the bottom, that appears to be true.

Exactly. Oregon is a money-printing machine.

I don’t recall suggesting there was a direct correlation between higher debt and higher success. What you do with that debt is also important.
There does seem to be a correlation between extremely low/no debt and a shite athletic department, though.

Depends on what you’re doing with the debt. If you’re talking about just high interest credit card debt, sure.
But there’s a reason the wealthiest people in the world carry hundreds of millions of dollars in debt.

Georgia State is the largest school in the state with over 50K kids in the second largest city in the southeast.

Nothing wrong with debt for facilities.
The issue is cash flow to pay for that debt.

Nore proof that the Vols have the most resources. We pay our QBs 6 million even and have plenty of money to spare. The rest of you slackers need to catch up.

I hear LSU is selling Mike The Tiger to be able to buy a defensive tackle.

Issuing debt to fund facilities to spread the expenses out over many years instead of paying out immediately is a pretty common tactic.
