You need to remove New-Braska....they're done just like Minnesota.

Of the Big Ten list, since 1970 they have won 14

Of the SEC list, since 1970 they have won 23

However, since 2000 Big Ten total is 4, SEC is 13

LIL ol LSU isn't on your list of bluebloods. Guess we'll just take our three natty's this century, go home and watch the B1G on tv. While the rest of the SEC mud stomps your said bluebloods.

Michigan a blue blood? They are a Longhorns level underachiever every year.

Those are fine programs but not elite. Of that bunch, Tennessee is the closest. LSU has the titles but they're too inconsistent.

Hahaha.

Since the creation of the BCS, LSU has 3 championships. Tennessee and all 5 of the "blue bloods" you mention in your OP combine for 4.

So you are the Lord of Asses?

quote:

B1G- tOSU, Mich, Nebraska, USC, (ND)

1 current Blueblood, the rest are has beens like Tennessee

quote:

SEC- Bama, Texas, OKlahoma

2 Bluebloods, DKR is long dead and Buttertooth had 1 Natty before the CFP

I might add LSU as a modern blueblood. Pretty hard to win one Natty with one coach but to win 4 with 4 different coaches (3 in the modern era) is special

Notre Dame could wind up in the B1G and pigs could fly. No cultural fit with Notre Dame in the B1G. They fit best in the ACC and if they wind up there, SEC will be #1 for content and the ACC will be #2. B1G can keep adding populations but the product will not get any better.

MNC winner Michigan State went to the B1G, never won another Natty
MNC winner Penn State went to the B1G, never won another Natty
MNC winner Nebraska went to the B1G, never won another Natty
I can see the same with Southern Cal

You guys think the Domers are not smart enough to see this trend?

And how many of those teams have won a championship in the last 21 years?

OP is actually right. Football since 2000 is a very small timeframe. Tennessee would be closest to a blueblood. LSU and Florida are "microwave" national powers. Miami won the tile in 83, 89, 91. 3 in 8 years but were never a "blueblood". Bluebloods have won titles spanning more than 2 decades and go back 75-100 years. They have gone back to back, They are all also at the top of the all time wins list.

Really?

Using your theory

28 MNC's for Team A
27 MNC's for Team B
12 MNC's for Team C
6 MNC's for Team D
5 MNC's for Team E
1 MNC for Team F
1 MNC for team G

That is 80 MNC's for 1 conference alone but even though they are still playing today, nobody seriously considers them football blue bloods today. Ask any person on the street to name a football blue blood and I am guessing not 1 single Ivy League school will be mentioned.

7 of the 20 winningest teams of all time are in the SEC.

After this year, 5 of the top 10 will be SEC teams.

Michigan has won one 1/2 title in the last 75 years

Ohio State has the same number of NC’s as UGA the last 50 years. Notre Dame hasn’t won a NC in 34 years, Nebraska in 23 years (and then not as a Big 10 team), Penn State in 36 years (and not as a Big 10 team).

All current trends point to continued SEC dominance.

And what? The SEC has only ever had 1 blue blood anyway, but that team has more national titles than any Big 10 conference team.

Championships won by a team while they were not a part of their current, or future, conference counts or is relevant to the current, or future, conference.

Being good a long time ago doesn't make you a blueblood. That just makes you good a long time ago.

Bluebloods are consistent winners through different eras. Michigan has half a championship 25 years ago.
Nebraska hasn't been a consistent top 25 team since the 90s.

LSU was the first team to play football on foreign soil.

That makes them forever a blue blood IMO

Yes they are. There are 8 blue blood teams. Upper right corner for those of you who can’t read a graph.
