LSU usually have low numbers like that? We have something like 50k tickets sold before the day of the practice even arrives.

LSU fans traditionally don't attend the spring football game in droves. I think the largest we've ever had is like 35,000.

But with the combination of the end zones redoing the seats (just concrete), the East side not even being opened, the threat of bad weather, we had a pretty decent turnout.

Compared to other SEC schools, LSU's spring game attendance is traditionally lower; but then again, SE Louisiana traditionally has many other things going on - festivals, fairs, concerts, etc., to say nothing of the hundreds of things to do in the Big Easy on weekends, which NO OTHER STATE has at its disposal.

I think if LSU marketed thei spring game like we do at Alabama, then you would see a turnout.

Like a previous poster mentioned, make it an "event" worth traveling for. It would t be hard to get people in Louisiana to show up for it.

Actually they made a pretty decent attempt at that this year - but they advertised Saturday as more than just the L Club Spring Football Game, they had a giant campus pep rally, free concerts, gymnastics meet, softball game, track meet, LSU/MSU baseball games all going on this weekend.

I think they went for overall attendance at everything more than just the Spring Game.
Too bad the weather couldn't have cooperated and not threatened the events.

don't understand bragging about spring game attendance. The only thing it proves is that you have a ton of white trash fans that can't afford to go to real games. I was in Oxford yesterday and didn't go because I had better shite to do, like go fishing.
You're an idiot. Alabama makes a huge weekend event of it with a ton of things going on in town and around campus. We'll put 80-90,000 fans in the stands, then bring in all those recruits from Miss.and the rest of the country to see how they'll be treated if/when they play at Alabama. Have you noticed how its working out for us?

Why is getting to go enjoy Tuscaloosa or any other college town having a semi gameday environment on a random spring weekend a bad thing?

I'll happily take a chance to go cook some food, drink a few beers and sit in the stadium for a couple hours if I want to.
