Exactly... he probably saw that scene recently and laughed...but he wasn't able to relay the message the way Jerome did.

It basically means, "I'm not interested in hearing whatever doubts you may have about the game, if I tell you something is gon happen (UF beating Tenn)...it's gon happen. And if I tell you a duck can pull a truck, shut up, believe me, and hook that sucker up.
