don't feel like Slive lobbied hard enough for Auburn in 2004.

He didn't. He also was too hard on Bruce Pearl, and not tough enough on Alabama or the Kentucky CheatingCats.

Overall he did a fine job, but nothing spectacular. He didn't lobby enough for auburn in 2004 - remember the year before there was a split title between USC and LSU so it could have been done, and Auburn could have jumped Oklahoma for a spot in the title game. Also, I'm still not sold on our current 14 team composition. The current dissatisfaction with the schedule is a result of having 14 teams. IMO the SEC has gotten too large and lost some of its cohesion. Time will tell.

I agree with those who say Kramer was the real visionary of the modern SEC. The move to 12 teams and the creation of the SECCG were unqualified successes.

[quote]Believe it or not, there are 12 other schools in this conference who dont give a flip about playing politics with the two Alabama schools.

The problem is no one at the Bama/Auburn alumni association (SEC Offices) thinks that way. As far as they are concerned there are no other teams in this conference.

Last I checked, it was Tennessee who got caught cheating and then was subsequently stupid enough to hire another coach under investigation.

Feeding a hungry child some BBQ =/= cheating.

Wasn't under investigation when we hired him.

For Southern Miss, no. Morehead State, NCAA had him investigation. Dave Hart did a bang up job there.

Ignoring your Appalachian English, that investigation was long over by the time we hired him. Was a dumb hire, tho.
