They both share WalMart $$$$

They both put the "rainbow" in SEC sports

They both should adopt Pio for all game threads

They share a large common boarder

They are both single state PUBLIC schools

Here come all the Arkansas fans to tell you it will never be a rivalry. If you try to get a rationale from them, they will eventually start talking about track and field championships.

I mean it's definitely a rivalry. I don't know why either fanbase embraces it. It's like they go out of their way to explain why it's not a rivalry.

They don't like it because we usually whip their arse. We don't like it because, well, we usually whip their arse.

They don't like it because they genuinely believe that Mizzou is beneath them in every imaginable way. By the way they talk, you'd think they had Harvard's academic prestige and we were Arkansas State. And that they had Alabama's football tradition while we were Idaho. The fact that Arkansas is 2-8 against Mizzou since we've joined the SEC just exacerbates their delusion and frustration, and has willed them to scream even louder that we will never be rivals on the gridiron.

this is actually true I remember when you guys joined the league and I legitimately thought you guys would be a rent a win for us to end every year. This past year though I had an epiphany like the meme of the guy looking in the mirror asking if hes retarded, that we are in fact the whipping boy in the mizzou-Arkansas relationship. And it gave me the sadz

Missouri is doing everything possible trying to make it one, including beating us every year… but the reality is it is not a rival.. not even close.

We travel to Missouri for vacation, to have fun. Go to Branson, KC is the big city near us, a lot of KC fans here. We enjoy the Ozarks, why would we hate them?

The reality is the SEC made a huge mistake in trying to create something that’s not there. They put this game at the end of our season which makes no sense, Arkansas fans just don’t care.

This is a game that should be played early in the year, maybe first game if the year etc.

I think it is turning into a nice rivalry, but a fun one as you said. Lots of royals and chiefs fans in Arkansas. More of a, “jolly good showing old chap” sort of rivalry rather than a, “I want to murder your entire family in their sleep” kind of rivalry. Which is good because I think that niche is already filled for Missouri
