I just came back from the future, and you are gonna be SHOCKED at who replaces Saban. I can't tell you though, because it would upset the space-time continuum.
Does Mike Glenn come to your tailgate tent?

When coaches that are probably nearing retirement ask for and get long contracts, it's usually so they can keep recruiting without dealing with retirement issues. They are prob planning to leave a 2 or 3 years before the contract runs out imo.

the only way i would consider smart is if he would be a head coach somewhere else first and do well there.

Bama is not the place for your first head coaching job especially following Saban

Best thing to do for Bama if you can't steal another BCS coach who has at least a conference title is to hire an up and comer.

1. If he is successful - Jackpot else

2. Couple of mediocre seasons ala Shula or Zook and the fanbase is ready for the next coach ala Saban or Meyer.

You know that Penn St is going to offer whoever replaces Paterno the world. If they hire a below Tier 1 coach, their program will go to shite.

Penn St has more money available for a new coach than any other major program in football. All the money that Paterno turned down over the past 15 years has been going into an account for his successor. To me, it's still not an elite job like it once may have been. I doubt they steal away a top head coach but maybe there is someone out there with ties I don't know about.
