They have lots of guys that rotate in and out. Lots of experience even if they don't start. Same thing state does. Our best players usually don't start

We just replace them with better players.

Returning starters doesn't matter because so many backups saw playing time. Not just garbage time but real playing time.

Using Bill's same numbers in 2015 Alabama was 115th? So, this is actually an improvement.

What's your point? We lose players every year. We lose starters, backups, scout team, graduates every damn year. Bama still manages to field championship challengers and as long as Saban's running this factory expect more of what you've seen over the last 7-8 years.

We do have a lot of contributing players returning. Which means we have guys with real experience ready to step in to a larger role which was vacated, which are the figures reported in the above data.
For example, if we have two guys with similar producing at similar levels of efficiency. Starter who has 75% of the production gets replaced by the lower guy and I would really only view it as having to replace the 25% backup's amount of production.
Also our numbers in that link are skewed by losing starting rb and starting qb, but most bama fans don't get concerned about those positiongs because we usually don't have trouble replacing game management type qbs we have and rbs are typically plug and play for us under Saban.

He wasn't in the Top 10 of Heisman predictions before the season started. We also had a unit losing 75% of it's production. This year, neither is that much of a hole.
