So, has LSU fully embraced the corndog moniker?

If you are an LSU grad then you should know by now that we don't give a flying frick what some hillbillis have to say about us. We are who we are and that's why they hate us. Geaux tigers.

Lol. I would hate to see her face when she's shocked.

No doubt. I just found it hilarious the drumline eating corndogs while warming up.

I don't even see how people think the corn dog situation is even an insult

Honestly, I don't think any LSU fans are bothered by it at all. It's odd and innacurate. It's not like LSU fans have some secret corn dog fetish that was outed. I think the general reaction is WTF? Nobody takes it personally because it doesn't resonate at all. I think most LSU fans shrug it off as a lame flame attempt. Somebody thinks tailgating smells like corndogs? Whatever. It has no value. It means nothing. It's the rant equivalent of "honky." On a scale of 1-10, "Gump" is a 9.5, "Corndog" is a 1 at best. Keep slinging it. Don't care.

It isn't exactly an insult.. it is just an observation of a natural phenomena, the odor of "corn dog" that clings to everything and everyone in Baton Rouge.
Oh, I know you will try to ignore it and say it isn't true. And the students will deny and yell at people who sniff politely, and they will cuss children who ask their parents... "Dad what is that corn dog smell?" We all know you people are very sensitive about the stench and odor, and that you despair that everyone smells it, even if they are afraid to show they smell it because you might curse them and slit their tires or something.
Look Tigers, it is ok when there is nothing you can do about it... when even your weekly shower doesn't seem to lessen the odor. Some places like Mobile smell of azalea blooms. Some places smell of moss and ancient oaks like Fairhope, or Tuscaloosa. And some place just reek of corn dog, especially Baton Rouge.
I've done some online research and it isn't really Baton Rouge's fault. It fault lies in the
Proteus bacteria, known for their “sweet, corn tortilla smell” (?!), and the same bacteria is responsible for the popcorn scent of your dog’s feet.
So don't hang your head Tigers. It isn't your fault that everyone in the USA knows you all are covered in Proteus bacteria. Just get used to it... because when people visit Tiger stadium, they all begin sniffing or holding their nose or breath. But visitors are usually too polite or scared enough not to make a big deal of it.
Just accept you all have that smell. But it is OK, with that odor I'll bet you get a free bowl of soup... looks good on you though.

You have a point, how can a fact be an insult.
LSU fans smell like corndogs.

Jesus, TLDR. An insult shouldn't need that much explaining

This is sad. If you need to create folklore, you have nothing. Abort and try something new. It's not clever or funny. I'm a corn dog. Boo hoo. Whatever. Corndog out!

I guess it's the fried food?
I don't think anyone is insulted by being called a corn dog. I think it's insulting bc it's such a terribly thought out insult. "Coonass" is at least trying.
Oh, and btw, corn dogs are fricking delicious and since people have started calling us this, we've implemented them at our tailgate, so thanks haters!

It's not the food or the smell. The genesis comes from auburn fans stealing oklahoma's insult to Nebraska fans. (Shocked that auburn would mimic something)
Now people try to ascribe it to tailgating smell to find a way to make it make sense. Of course, it made sense when making fun of Nebraska.

Azaleas have no aroma, so this infantile amusement never got off the ground. Please enjoy your college football, it's what passes for culture Alabama.
