Does anyone really believe the 14 members school would take a smaller slice of the pie to get OU and KU? It is a ridiculous idea.

I don't know about the SEC, but I would figure they would try to expand east, but that is going to depend on what schools FoxSports1 can influence to join the Big 12 (aka Houston, Cincy or UCF) vs what ESPN can keep.
ESPN already tried to break up the B1G several years ago by trying to strip Penn State away to join the ACC. That didn't work though.
The B1G wants to expand nationally, coast to coast. The next step they need to do is expand the football brand south. Thus, getting the likes of KU, Oklahoma, UVA, UNC, GA Tech, Vandy (not really a "south" move), Texas (highly unlikely), and Houston since they still have to follow the rules of CIC (10 billion dollars worth of federal research dollars)and then into places like Phoenix for ASU hockey, Colorado State for hockey, and much more.
The B1G is expanding nationally for LaCrosse.

It would be great. I believe their are talks. OU is ready to go it alone without OSU which is the key. They have to bring another school and another state to make it work.
Kansas is the favorite because the ACC teams are now basically off limits.

There is a flaw in this logic. The B1G isn't going to expand to a state that would reduce the other member schools piece of the pie. It is the same reason OU and Kansas will never be admitted to the SEC under the current structure. Things may change in the future if the TV dollars ever dry up, etc…but for now no conference outside of the Big 12 is taking a school who doesn't roughly bring 10 million cable subscriptions with it.
Texas fits the bill. Ga Tech to a lesser extent.
No conference is ever expanding based on hockey, for any reason.

It isn't just about TV money. Add in MIT and John Hopkins to the B1G and the membership schools will be thrilled because of the federal research dollars. John Hopkins already joined for LaCrosse and they are joining for other sports as well. MIT is joining for some no named sport.
Getting an Oklahoma and the like is for football brand purposes, which they want to move south to expand the brand into the south.

You lost me with this statement. It is hard to have an adult discussion with someone so beyond reality.

Exactly what research money gets funneled into an athletic conference

You are the one that is clueless. Do you have any clue how the $10 billion dollars is "shared" among the membership schools of the B1G? It is obvious you have no clue. Thus, why you have no clue why the B1G is adding schools like John Hopkins for individual sports and expanding the LaCrosse and Hockey conference.
The B1G is expanding into Denver, Phoenix, and into Boston.

Its going to be hard for State schools such as OU and KU to leave Okie State and K-State behind...

just as I thought, you dont have a clue. You make these bold statements on here constantly, attack people for calling you out, yet dont know what you are talking about. Good god you are bad.
Future tip, when you tell someone, "you dont have a clue", "please educate yourself", etc... you should probably have the clue and educate yourself first
