Yea, but at least that had a couple actual facts around it. This HUNH/player safety is just stupid, and I haven't seen any real, actual facts.
And I have a feeling this will be around all summer too.

Just left a presser before White County Razorback Club where Arkansas' Bret Bielema addressed pace-for-play for the first time.

Troy Schulte ?@TroySchulteADG · 27m
Bielema was asked about evidence regarding injuries. His answer: "Death certificates," referencing the death of a Cal football player.

Troy Schulte ?@TroySchulteADG · 24m
Was asked about perception that the change is from 'sour grapes' by coaches who don't hurry up. "Don't bother me in any way shape or form."

Troy Schulte ?@TroySchulteADG · 24m
Bielema also said he and Nick Saban had no talks prior to issue being brought up at rules committee.

Troy Schulte ?@TroySchulteADG · 23m
Lastly: Bielema didn't sound too confident rule would pass March 6, but he had never seen a rule rooted in safety not pass.

Show of hands. Who thinks the HUNH has gotten worse than the schedule threads last year? I'm beginning to think so

No, way. Miles to go (pun intended) before the hurry up posts equal schedule threads.

Didn't the California player die during conditioning drills?
quote:

BERKELEY -- Cal team physician Dr. Casey Batten said Bears defensive end Ted Agu, who died Friday morning after a team training run, had experienced no health problems during previous workouts.

Agu, 21, was finishing a routine offseason run when he began "having difficulty" about 150 yards from the north entrance to Memorial Stadium, Batten said. Agu, a junior from Bakersfield, was talking while being taken by cart to the Simpson Center medical facility, where he collapsed and became unconscious. CPR was administered, and Agu was declared dead shortly after 7 a.m. at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley.

Really hope he get hammered on this, from all sides. Then I hope Sonny Dykes comes over and kicks his fat arse. Then I hope -- well, arky will suck again, so the season will be a disaster anyway. #karma

Reporter says something unflattering re: in state school.

Fanbase immediately attacks reporter and or newspaper they work for.

Surely you jest...

Ban off-season conditioning drills and running.

Sure he wasn't referencing the Auburn player that like a Talibani turning into pink mist?

To be fair to Bert, we don't know for absolute he was referring to the Cal player who recently died during conditioning drills.

This is what a reporter says it was in reference to.

I'm sure Bert will explain exactly what he meant when some other intrepid reporter asks some followup questions.

Here's the list of other players who have died recently:

Had to go back to 2010 to find a kid who died during a game.

Practice appears to be far more deadly.
