Is this enough to get Gus fired?

Another losing SEC record next year and he's gone. L5U just guaranteed he gets at least one SEC win next season though so he is already 1 up for next year.

No, Gus is still learning to be a HC. He needs at least two more yrs to build a team.

Saban was 7-5 at Michigan St his third season there (which was his 4th season overall as a HC).

Time will tell if Gus learns from his experiences (like Saban and other great coaches) or if he's just an average coach with an occasional above average season.

Yep,this is auburn,no patience.

But Malzahn is an unproven head coach and these are the chances you take.Decent OC though..

He will probably just take the Miami job, because ACC coaching positions are better and its an easier way to the National championship

Barring a total collapse next season, malzahn will be at auburn through 2017. After five seasons, I think we'll be able to see the direction things are heading.

Staff continuity is also key... something we haven't had the last 8 years or so.

and auburn was 3-9... MSU forfeited games... they didn't lose them on the field... they were a 5-6ish team prior to 95.

Obviously the sanctions were something he had to overcome, and I'm not an expert on MSU football... Saban improved them, no question, but his first four seasons in east Lansing were average.
