We been spurned. Oh so spurned.

You'd be pretty smart if you knew half the things you thought you did.

I'm applauding your tactic. Why link me to another thread where you're using the same tactic?

It's somewhat of a surprising move, as Arkansas said last week when it announced the new deals for other assistants that a contract for Chaney was being finalized
I agree, got spurned

OK.
Deflect away from every HC of your basketball program landing better jobs when they were wanted by others.
But hey, we don't consider a coach legend for making the elite 8 here.

How confident is Bielema that Smith is locked up for the 2015 season?
"We took care of everyone one of our assistants that I expressed an interest to do so," Bielema told reporters after Smith contract had been signed. "Everyone of those guys has stayed in put. I can't tell you what's happening out there beyond what I know but it should be an interesting couple of weeks."
Next up, the other 2 that didn't get new contracts.....

Since it looks like he was being asked to leave, do you think a replacement will be announced sooner rather than later?
It would make sense if this was not really a surprise.

This thread is about Arkansas losing their OC to Pitt and the Arkansas Razorbacks football program dumpster fire in general. Please stay on topic or create your own response thread.

Its as surprise in that he was able to land a job without being fired first.
Not a huge demand for Jim "Grimace" Chaney out there in the world.

After all the "Fire Chaney" threads, you still think we got "spurned"?
Come on man. This is the same thing Bielema did with Ash. Instead of publicly firing a guy, he waits for them to line up another job. It's because Bert is a class act and doesn't want to jeopardize another coach's career.
Bielema showed patience and maturity by letting Chaney find a job before letting him go.

You can't push it too far or it strains credibility, everyone knows this.

Did not disagree, just asking if you think the next hire is already set just not announced?
Posted on 1/11/15 at 8:01 pm to Mizzeaux
We really shouldn't be surprised.

I would expect he has already been contacting replacements. He pretty much said "I took care of the guys I wanted taken care of" regarding the contracts.
He also said he expected to lose one of the assistants this season.

It will be set by the end of this week, of course there was an ideal candidate, but it never hurts to gauge interest of the previously thought to be uninterested.
Its no coincidence this all is occurring this week, very easy to interview candidates without it being widely known.
I won't be surprised to see a staff position left open until after NSD, mainly because of the recruiting loopholes that presents.
