Henry Josey benched as many reps as Hill, and still ran 4.40
And yet, Hill is still the better back

This is more bad news for Arkansas because they are all aprrently faster than any body on Arkansas team given that they never lost to the hogs.
Winning two SEC games in two years, I think the Hogs forgot exactly what it takes to win football games.

Honestly it won't get any better for us until we roll everyone that was associated with Petrino off the roster. That was such a disruptive Abomb to the locker room. Our schedule has been brutal and will be again in '14.
4 pages in and no one's answered my question in the OP. That's about what I expected.

The stupid comment about Mettenberger has been answered repeatedly. It can be drawn in pictures if you'd be able to understand that better.

And I would pick any of those guys over any player from the hogs.

Most people don't have High School 40 times, and the ones they do have are usually hand timed so you get you hind timed 4.2s and shite like that
Jarvis was never a burner, he got his stars by running pristine routes, being physical, and having insane hands
Copeland was a Dlinemen turned FB, so i wouldn't say he is at the back of the pack as far as goalie hole busters he will probably be ok. He is also 270 5'11". And if he is 5'11" i need to her remeasured because i might be 6'2"

Were any of those LSU players track guys...sprinters? I call bullshite on some of the slow times I saw today. I realize that the starting position is so the scouts can get an equal measurement across all players, but for a player not trained to sprint in track, that has to be the most awkward starting position possible. I don't know about Blue, but Hill is faster than that.
The trained track guys were the ones burning the 4.2-4.3 times. I think the long jump, vertical and timed agility drills tell you more than the 40 about a player's potential

The 40 and the bench press are probably to of the least important things done at the draft. They're talked about so much because your average football fan can't comprehend the meaning of anything else.

I've never thought of this but makes sense. if you are familiar with track starts you have an advantage.Even thought these guys have been training this for a few months not. I personally think you should start in the position you would actually play in. only Dlinemen and maybe Ol should start with a hand on the ground.

Football is still a skills sport augmented by speed, strength, quickness, etc.
Our players performances on the field speak for themselves.
W.r.t. the OP:
a) The only "slow" time would be Landry's so maybe the premise is flawed.
b) Most HS times are likely to be falsely fast. FTR, Jeremy Hill's 'recruit' 40 time was 4.63s. Jeremy Hill Rivals
