Slive is sly. No reason to go to 9 games until the SEC is penalized on strength of schedule. This allows the league to take the temperature of the playoff committee and their insistence on strength of schedule. No reason to cede the position of power until it is apparent that it is required.

Not really, just solves one gripe, but can you imagine the bitching if bama had UK and Vandy as part of the two and LSU had UGA and USC as theirs.

If we go 9 games, I'd still rather have a 6-3 system (6-1-2 for Bama/UT/AU/UGA).

6-1-2 is better than 6-1-1, but still not optimal. Nothing against USC, just don't have any special connection to them that would make me want to see them every year instead of getting to see other East teams more frequently.

I'm glad you fixed it for him. Now can you please just accept it or don't and just deal with it?

Well I agree but Vandy/Ole Miss and State/UK have no interest in not always having their shitty cross-divisional opponent.

There is an article completely about how Saban is in favor of the 9 game schedule on espn.com. I think the article was written yesterday and there are multiple quotes where Saban talks about why he wants the 9 game schedule.

Of course all of those statements are probably lies.

We might as well expand to 20, have two round robins and let the champions play in the CCG.

Even that is more logical than 6-1-1.

And Mizzou & Arky will want to keep theirs once they start playing.

Saban likes playing as much competition as possible because of SOS and it also keeps the players motivated.

No...no you didn't.

OM, MSU, UK, Vandy, Arky, UF & Mizzou all voted for it last year to go along with Bama, AU, UGA & UT; and Slive seems to think they will again this year. So apparently your football PTB are in the vast minority.

What Saban says on the record is not the same as what he thinks off the record

Looks like well placed propaganda to me. Saban comes off looking like the good guy, like he tries to play a tough schedule. When in reality, SEC will continue with 8 SEC games because our SOS is good enough to get us to the playoffs, and Bama will still get the easier cross divisional schedule.

8 or 9 game schedule, the SEC Champion is basically a lock to get one of the 4 playoff spots starting in the 2014 season.

It would take an exceptionally bizarre year for the SEC Champion not to make the playoff, 8 games or 9 games.
