While that 12-1 season at Stanford is very impressive and blows the lid off of anything a coach like Sumlin has done or will ever do, we're talking Saban, who took over a Michigan State team that hadn't had a winning season for 5 years prior and was under sanctions from the NCAA and got them to 10-2 a few years later, took over an LSU team that'd gone 4-7 and 3-8 the prior two seasons and won a Natty two years later, and took over a 6-7 Alabama team and won a Natty two years later. He then won it all again in 2011, 2012, & 2015. He's won FIVE national titles. No modern coach is close to as impressive as him. If all he'd done was won one title, at Bama, ok, then maybe that's the school and not the coach. But 4?! And another at LSU?! The guy is as bona fide as it gets. And all of those championships were in the toughest conference. He didn't beat up on a trail of patsies during the weakest era of the Big 10 like Meyer did at Ohio State.

He forgets that 12-1 season was led by the future 1st overall pick, Andrew Luck. Not diminishing the success he had at Stanfodd, it certainly is impressive at that school, but your job is much easier when you have a future face of franchise.

Harbaugh can't hold sabans nutts. And bayless beats off wishing he was either of them. The other guy sucks as bad but with a louder more annoying mouth. So Smith sucks even worse if that was even possible.
