In SEC games:
Monk
12 gms, 22.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.4 spg, 0.6 bpg
Fox
11 gms, 15,5 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.4 spg, 0.1 bpg
Maten
12 gms, 18.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.5 apg, 0.7 spg, 1.3 bpg
Frazier
12 gms, 18.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 4.3 apg, 2.6 spg, 0.1 bpg
Thornwell
12 gms, 22.1 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 2.3 apg, 2.7 spg, 0.8 bpg
Thornwell is scoring right with Monk, but he's also blowing Monk out of the water in rebounds and steals, and even edging Monk in assists and blocked shots.
Monk is a freshman while Thornwell is a senior. Monk's upside and potential is far above Thornwell's, but THIS year Thornwell is producing better, and the SEC POTY is typically about the best player of THAT given year, not about potential or what the best player will ultimately be in the future.
Also, typically UK's players are "One and Done" players, so UK will most likely never see Monk's potential realized. Finally, Monk is playing on a team full of talent that can produce, while Thornwell has to hoist his team up onto his shoulders most every night, and he's still getting it done.
As far UK's Fox, both Maten and Frazier of UGA are producing more this season than Fox. He's barely in the top 5, if even that....
