In its four biggest sports:

Football [3] Lane Kiffin, Derek Dooley, Butch Jones
Basketball [3] Cuonzo Martin, Donnie Tyndall, TBD
Baseball [2] Todd Raleigh, Dave Serrano
WBB [1] Holly Warlick

If you need a fanbase to walk you through a coaching change, look no further.

If you need an administration to do the hiring, steer fricking clear.

That's pretty amazing.

In that same time period, LSU has had 1 basketball coaching change, and 1 women's basketball coaching change.

I believe Hart only made only 2 of those hires [Donnie and Butch] with Warlick being forced on him. I think he survives, but this hire will weigh heavy on his career.

Yeah, as an outsider I agree that this hire has the most to do with Hart's legacy. The football program was in shambles when he fired Dooley, and it appears that Jones is, at least, providing some stability there. Even if you go 7-6 again, I think it would be wise to keep Jones around for a while longer if only just to slow down the carousel.

I have a hard time blaming him for Tyndall, too, as the NCAA investigation on him didn't start in earnest until after he left USM.

But he has to get this hire right in order to keep the fanbase from completely turning on him.

He's already got the female fanbase calling for his head for trying to eliminate the Lady Vol logo.

Yeah, what was his motivation behind that? was it just to create one solid brand for all UTK athletics? It's a curious decision, as I've met quite a few people since I've lived in TN that are Lady Vols fans, but don't pull for UTK football/men's basketball/baseball at all. Maybe he was trying to avoid that, but I don't think that was the best idea.

I love Tennessee. It will always be my home and I adore the Volunteers.

But between some of our fans and our administration, it's a really stupid place.

Said with love.

He wants "One Tennessee", but pretty much refuses to comment further.
