Before this stupid arse one and done rule was in effect, I once went nine years and only missed one home LSU game. Now you couldn't pay me to go. It's just crappy basketball and you get a new cast every year or two and there is only program continuity with like maybe 10 programs.

The only way that stops is if the NBA raises the age to 20 or older to declare.

Is that all you have?
Honestly I am not an expert on the subject, nor do I care. I am surprised you care so much. ESPN mentioned Carmello Anthony earlier today. I would bet a lot of money that there are others.

I would assume that a students GPA is a privacy issue and many fans would not know what exactly their players GPA is ( apperantly Belle is in the loop) . Maybe Sean Sutton can tutor him or take a test for Ben, help him out a little

Once Allen Iverson and his bs ISO ball became the face of the NBA I lost complete interest in it. Kwame Brown? Cmon man. Kobe cemented it in my mind if had gone to shite. Cant stand him. 98 Bulls Jazz finals was the last one worth my while to follow. Before that the NBA was pretty awesome.

I think we'd all like to see it go that way OP. NBA has to get on board. They are the ones responsible for this whole mess.
And that's because they didn't want all the high school kids. This way, if they are eligible for the draft and the NBA doesn't want to pick them then they don't and they head off to school. The truly special ones will get picked, the borderline ones will go to college where they should be.
It's much better for the college game, and it still gives the NBA what they were looking for.

Yep. They figured out how to turn the NCAA into their own farm system. Instead they need to make the D league attractive. They have nothing to gain by changing the system they think, but I'd argue interest in the NBA would grow again if players stayed. I know mine would. I don't even care about the Kentucky guys other than it makes UK look good when they succeed so our recruiting is easy.

It needs to change asap. Either go to the NBA or stay 3 years in college.

No. We don't need to adopt the baseball rules. We need to allow kids to get drafted out of high school. This is America.

What? Baseball does allow that.

The real problem was that too many guys were leaving just to leave and to jumpstart the clock on the their free agent contract.
It was hammered into kids so hard in AAU ball that kids that had zero business in the NBADL were skipping straight to pro ball. when 35 kids enter the draft early there's obviously a problem.
There's only a handful of guys each year that have the skills and ability to compete in the NBA. It's the NBA's own fault for drafting prospects, you don't draft a Kwame Brown #1. College is designed to teach these kids so much more than how to get through half a year of school by doing the absolute minimum. You're supposed to learn how to life life on your own, manage a bank account, do laundry, study, prepare, master time management, take a few things seriously, become disciplined, learn how to excel in organizations, expand your horizons, meet all sorts of people, learn how to use your brain, assess and criticize, learn what really motivates and interests you, make connections and friends that aren't just hitching on to your star, make connections and friends that can help propel your star, grow as a human being. etc etc
It was awesome seeing rivalries begin at the college level and seeing teams evolve as the players rolled in and out on 4 year cycles. I just hate almost everything about the college game today.

Completely agree, one and done has destroyed college basketball.
You can't grow and develop a team anymore, at least not with elite players.
