Don't know if it's true but if it is....so what?
It's a mascot numb nuts.
It's supposed to be goofy and take cheap shots at your opponents.
It's not like it's a schools band playing a song (at the approval of the administration) with adult fans acting classless and saying "we just beat the hell out of you".
