They are putting together a stout program and their recruiting is starting hit that upper echelon year to year.

I know they haven't won anything, but they joined a division responsible for half the national championships this century. Only one time since they joined the SEC west it didn't have a team representing it in the National title game.

Even with Jimbo's flaws he's clearly elevated that program. Personally hope they go down in flames, but it's hard not to acknowledge they are building a solid SEC program.

For all of Jimbo's flaws he's a great recruiter. Will he ever win a national championship there. Who knows? But I think they will always have a solid program under him.

I mean shite, they're what, 16-3 over the past two years?

I'd say that's pretty good, no re-evaluation needed.

They are definitely doing good things in College Station. They are a rising power.

Just need to hit on the right QB now that the foundation is mostly in place.

It is good. Saban's success at Alabama has just made other programs have unrealistic expectations. What Saban has done is unmatched in CF history.

The only people that give them shite is LSU and it's because LSU has felt threatened by them since day one, LSU fans really wanted to hold on to their solid position as perennial #2 in the West.

Some programs take a longer time to get their guys in placed and find the right players to fit their system and the assistants doing their job the right way. Look at Dan Mullen and Florida. That program has flopped due to not getting the right DC. Mullen should have gotten rid of him a couple of years ago. That is now coming back to bite him from behind!

You're right, we need to send some "disrupters" down there.

If they win out, and they certainly should, they would have to be considered a solid SEC West team going forward.

That said, their two loses would both be to average at best SEC West teams. The win over Bama is strong though.

If they should lose to Ole Miss or LSU, that all goes out the window and they have a 3 losses within the division all to teams they were favored to beat.

Since taking over at A&M, Jimbo is 33-12 (21-10). Over the last 20 games, he's 17-3 (12-3). His avg recruit rating over the last 4 years has been 90.85, 91.11, 91.70, 93.05(current class). If you don't recognize what is going on at A&M then you're head is in the sand or being obtuse. I am not saying we're going on a Saban run, but he's buiding a program to be and stay pretty dang good. If a QB hits, then I could see a national title.

I think the DC is just part of Mullen's problem. Not really caring about recruiting is his major flaw.

I've always thought the aTm bashing on here was dumb. Jimbo is building a very good program there. Their D is really good.

But what about Florida? They don't recruit very well and should have a top 10 recruiting class every year where the school is located. That is why Mizzou will never get to be in the top 10 recruiting class regularly. If Drinkwitz can get them to recruit in the top 20 every year and get a top 10 once in a while then that will be good. Shocking is Florida is no where near that.

Nah.

LSU has never been a given to run the table in the west, we've just had a ton of success. Even when Alabama was down, Auburn gave us fits.

The fact that he hasn't done this as of yet is the most surprising part of his tenure. On the flip side, It is almost as surprising as how well the defense has improved with him there.

Like anything else with this conference, nothing should surprise anyone anymore.

Not at all trying to slight A&M, just rather not deal with Texas A&M, a possible good Auburn program in Saban's last few years...Lmao.

Like Mizzou being so bad on defense? Also they could be the second worst SEC team this year.
