While watching Charleston Southern and North Dakota St., I wondered if the elite FCS teams should be given the opportunity to go bowling instead of the playoffs. From a financial standpoint, it may be in the best interest of both the schools, and the bowls that might invite them. Even from a competition standpoint, many of these teams could win a minor bowl game or two imo. Just my 2 cents.

Wouldn't they just join the FBS then?

Why would any FCS team want to go to a shitty bowl instead of being in a playoff, the results of which actually mean something?

Those shitty bowls will provide more exposure and money.

Exposure? Shitty bowl? I don't think so.

Money? Major college football is moving away from bowls because there's more to football than money. The FCS proves that. They have true champions.

Major college football won't have a true champion until an FCS-type playoff is instituted and the ridiculous bowl "system" is abandoned. The 4-team playoff is an improvement from th beauty contests before but too many legitimate teams are still being left out.

The FCS playoffs are far more meaningful and build their programs far better than a matchup in the Weedeater Bowl against a 6-6 Tulsa would.

There's certainly more than four. Ohio State should have been in the playoff. They were definitely legit.

While the 4-team playoff is better, major college football is still dominated by perception of teams rather than on-the-field performance. That's why a committee still selects the 4 "best" teams for the playoff. That's far more subjective than the 24 teams selected for the FCS playoff and just a tad less subjective than picking only two in the BCS era.

No one can argue that a great team got left out of the FCS playoffs. That argument still carries weight in major college football.

No. It won't happen because the NCAA doesn't recognize post season in fbs. Also, We have too many shitty bowls now. It needs to go like it used to be.
D1- all the schools that can legitimately compete with each other. Basically P5 schools. That would get us to about 60 teams. Drop bowl games to 15.

D2- the southern misses, ULL's, troys of the world. They aren't gonna win a national title. They are eligible for bowls but would have to basically be 12-0 due to bowls being cut down but we would be spared the December games of Nevada vs central Florida in the chicos truck lines no more itch fine tooth crab comb Albuquerque bowl. Nobody watches that shite

D3- what is currently FCS. Playoffs.

Below D3-who gives a shite what they do.

I miss the days when a bowl meant something. Hell, the gator bowl or Sun bowl would be two 9-2 teams. LSU was 9-1-1 in 87, ranked in top 10 and went to the hall of fame bowl. Now, We have 8-4 teams playing on new years.
