Scholarships were reduced in the 1970's for that exact reason.

I don't know if you are trying to dispute that Bama should not be preseason number 1 or should not be the 2011 BCS Champ.
Either way LSU had a great team, but is not the champ according to the rules.

Here is a point to my fellow LSU fans. We won the west and the SECC last year. We beat Bama at their house. We used that same game plan to get the shite stomped out of us on 1/9.
We are still using that very same plan this year. If we make it to play Bama as a undefeated team,and still use that GP,it will be a blood bath. Les better get our shite straight because Saban will eat his lunch again.
