This is a troll thread, and not a great one, but I'll bite.
Yes. Look Gus had a really good run on the plains but by the time they fired him he was pretty well done.
Nobody was doing what he was doing when he got into college football. Then some were doing it. Then everyone was doing it. Then everyone figured out how to stop it.
He still had a fantastic run and we should respect that. His problem is he can't adjust his system to the modern era. That happens. Auburn hasn't struck gold since replacing him, but they were right to swing for the fences in replacing him.

Harsin was a huge swing 'n miss, and no one knows what Hugh can do at Auburn. Hell, until they get a high quality QB operating that offense, Hugh doesn't even have the tools to do his best work.

I think it cost you more than that. Letting him go was the right move but it set off a chain reaction that led to where you are now. I think it set you back a decade or longer.

had we known in 2020 what was going to happen with NIL/portal then yeah, firing Gustav was a huge mistake
the ugly truth is, we are never going to compete with the Bama/UGa/LSU/Michigan/UTx/tOSU tier of programs ever again
we will be lucky to reach the F$U/Clemson/OU/Southern Cal/Penn St tier occasionally
we had a good run from 1983-2017 where we could keep up with the big dogs, but thats over now
only comfort is that 90% of D1 aren’t any better off than we are
the ugly truth is, we are never going to compete with the Bama/UGa/LSU/Michigan/UTx/tOSU tier of programs ever again

I mean he went 6-7 last season and the team looked worse than ever to end the season. And somehow they're bringing back the QB despite that being one of the biggest shortcomings of the team.
Not that quickly I guess.

QB wasn't the major problem last year. He hit guys in the hands with passes all year long. We had a bunch of receivers who couldn't catch a fuzzy Nerf ball with velcro gloves if it was soft-tossed to them.
We beat both UGA and UA last year if our WRs catch the easy TD passes they dropped.
