I think they gang tackled him off campus on Dalrymple right before the I10 entrance ramps. I might be thinking of another though. It seems I got one of those "Suspect fleeing" texts every other week last year. This year has been pretty tame thus far.

Yep.
A guy that I know was murdered in the Virginia Tech Massacre. There really wasn't a lot that could have been done there. People are so quick to lay the blame.

well seriously...how do you stop someone with a hidden weapon walking around campus who may blend in with the students? it's impossible unless someone reports something strange about them. it's usually not the police who initiate the report.

yea really nothing that can be done about this type of thing. Its not like they can seal off an entire campus and gate it up like a prison and then search everyone going in and out of the campus all day and night to try and prevent this.

and that is pretty hard to spot on a major college campus considering the wide array of people and the things they are doing.

well usually its a student or someone who alerts the police if they see something strange. but what's strange? hell, when i'm walking somewhere, i'm usually oblivious to whats going on around me.

exactly especially on a big campus like states. so many different people going around its not easy to notice someone acting strange. Hell even if I saw someone acting strange I doubt I'm thinking they are about to shoot someone on a campus.

There was a grad student who killed his professor and himself in an academic building at Arkansas my Senior year on the first day of class. I remember how scary that was, and how pissed I was that people were cracking jokes about it.

Especially if you go somewhere like Georgia Tech or Tulane or Vandy that's right in the middle of a large city. You see weird shite all the time, so what's one more crazy person?

actually i think my friend told me about that. even with that though unless they are checking every one going in and out people can still easily pull off what happened at state.
now it would probably be easier to catch them since they could close it off quicker.
