I know some of you on here have asked about him and his battle with cancer, here is his latest update from his mom:

Just wanted to let everyone know that Shon's treatment is still going well. We are out of Phase 2, and now into Phase 3. The worst of the chemo is now over and Shon came through like a pro. Minimal side effects, no hair loss and he only dropped a small amount of weight.

The power of prayer is amazing. Everyone's prayers have brought us this far, and I KNOW he will make it through the remaining treatments without issue.

All tests remain clear.

I am so thankful that this illness was detected when it was.

I've said it before, but I know God is using Shon for reasons that aren't clear to us yet. But, with time, we will all understand.

Please keep him and our family in your thoughts and prayers.

I've attached a picture he took a few days ago. He looks great!!!

Just because you may not believe, doesn't mean you can't respect.

Thanks for the update. I have him on FB(not stalking) and check for updates once in a while but haven't seen any lately. Glad he is doing great and still fighting. I'll continue to pray for him

Believing in God=/=Believing God is making my kid suffer for a ''purpose''.

Anyway, glad to hear he is doing well.

Without trying to hijack, have you ever been punished, or punished a child to bring them back in line? Or used a situation as an example to better something for the future? I'm in no way saying I have a clue why anyone gets sick, or bad things happen to folks at all, but some believe there is a greater purpose and a reason for why things happen and look for the good that can come of it, rather than wallow in why it's happening to them.

It's just a coping mechanism

Glad to hear it for Shon though

There is no ''greater purpose'' to cancer, by all means Shon Coleman is just your average kid who didn't deserve this. That type of thinking absolutely disgusts me.

You miss the point altogether. Again, there's no need to make a point about someone's beliefs making you disgusted. I could say that someone coping and finding faith in their healing getting the comments bashing that faith is disgusting if you would prefer to take that route. Like I said, whether you believe or not, there's no reason there can't be respect and if you want to say something, just say good news, and move along.

Wasn't trying to go this route. Just sick of the intolerance to folks who may have a religious belief and who may choose to mention it in their tough times, as the Colemans have.

This really turned into an arguement? I don't know why i'm surprised, but I am.
