Why does the rant and society in general quickly take the media's out-of-context quotes as truth and run with it? A post game presser from a B12 douche nozzle still butthurt, from a question ASKED at a high school convention of his coaching philosophy? The media is known fer it. Yet you all swallow the hook every time. Is tRant really that shallow? And cutthroat?
I'll admit, Bert does speak his mind more than some instead of the usual coach speak, but that's part of his personality. A value that a lot of people claim to admire but were so quick to turn like moths to a flame.
Including many hog fans. Is he the right coach for Ark? Not sure. How he pulls himself out of this mortar crater and salvage the season after injuries and tough losses will determine his future here.

Bert is a shitty bootleg version of Spurrier. Know when to talk and when not to. And try to at least be funny about it once in awhile.

The same could be said of the quote for Rudy Ford from Auburn on LF from LSU, but nobody cared including ESPN on Saturday. They purposely took it out of context to craft a story.
Bert's issue is he doesn't come across as speaking his mind as much as he appears insecure and needy. He may end up being a great success at arkie, but he doesn't have near the stellar record many trumpet from his time in Wisconsin. His record at arkie speaks for itself.

Speaking his mind is fine but he does a bit more than that. If he is going to say the kind of shite he says then he should expect people to come after him when something goes wrong for the Hogs. In my opinion, he doesn't seem to care or give a shite what Kingsbury, Urban Meyer, other fans, media, etc... Say about him. He just doesn't give a frick. You guys seem more obsessed with it than him.
He just doesn't care and loses ZERO sleep over it. If he doesn't care... Why should you???

Seriously... I know the guys that were at the THSCA convention... "Bert was arrogant know it all..." He was "offensive". He essentially said the offense that was being run by 80% of the coaches in the room was grass and he was the lawn mower... It wasn't just the delivery. It was the words. It was the attitude. Pretty much bert went into his hottest recruiting ground and pissed off 80% of the coaches in the state of Texas. Give it to him. It takes a big fat cheese eating moron to pull that one off.
