Would you stick it out after this year knowing you're with other elite freshman players and be committed to putting in the time to build a champtionship team? Or, do you see the writing on the wall and know Jimbo's history and realize he will never get the job done as far as bring home a champtionship at A&M?

Jimbo has had enough time. He’s a failure. Time to get on a winning team.

You’d have to have faith that your class would stay intact. I’m not sure that is a valid scenario at this point.

Aggies are about to pay for that class a 2nd time. That's the only way to keep it from falling apart. "We'll double your salary and give you Fridays off. Please stay!"

If I'm a freshman at A&M, I'm trying to figure out why a 5th year head coach sold me on the program and culture he was building but now, my freshman associates and I are expected to carry said team.

Y’all may want to try and find out how the A&M NIL is structured before continuing being uninformed.

So they may stay, but only their pocketbooks will be in it. Should result in a great locker room culture.

What is Aggy doing different that’s going to keep them from taking the portal to another team?

But we were told Aggie didn't buy that number 1 class. Love how the narrative has changed from their fans

must be sad knowing these players don't give a shite about your uni except for the dollar bills they give them.

They don't care about building a championship team. They've already gotten paid before they had to put in any work, why would they care?

based on A&M’s tremendous history with coaching contracts, I think an aggie would be the LAST person I ever speak to for financial guidance

They'll stay if they're paid to stay. Otherwise they'll leave and go get paid a second time elsewhere.

You're assuming that the main reason those 5* players went there was something other than money.

Your two choices:
- stick it out and try to build a championship team
- bail on the team because the coach sucks and isn't leaving

I think you need to add "stay there no matter what as long as I'm getting paid".

Jumbo won a championship before A&M. Goes to A&M, and can’t do shite. Why? Because A&M is, and always will be, A&M.

Please enlighten us. How is it structured? You do know there’s video of one of your coaches referencing getting paid on a recruiting video

Be careful making this statement. We've had a few players at LSU who decided not to play in bowl games because they were more concerned about NFL futures than they were about representing the school who had awarded them an athletic scholarship and the opportunity to rise to that level of becoming an NFL prospect. I have little to no respect for a player who will abandon his team in such a manner because of a perception that playing in a lesser bowl game will somehow put him at risk for being selected lower in an upcoming NFL draft.

NIL and open portal transferring are having similar effects with players having no loyalty to the university who first gave them an opportunity to receive an education via an athletic scholarship.

Maybe the NFL needs to open up a minor league system like baseball has and allow colleges and universities to return to fielding teams of student-athletes rather than semi-pro players.
